Vietnam women’s football team remain Southeast Asia’s No. 1

Hanoi, 22 June 2026 – Vietnam’s women’s national team has retained its status as Southeast Asia’s highest-ranked side in the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking, remaining 37th in the world with 1,594 points.

According to the newly released rankings, Vietnam’s position remains unchanged from the previous update, highlighting the team’s continued consistency and dominance in regional women’s football. The result also keeps Vietnam among Asia’s leading women’s national teams and reinforces its reputation as one of the continent’s most competitive sides.

Within Southeast Asia, Vietnam continues to lead the regional standings. The Philippines remains the closest challenger, ranked 39th in the world with 1,566 points. Thailand climbed one place to 49th globally with 1,485 points, while Myanmar sits 55th with 1,461 points.

Elsewhere in the region, Cambodia recorded the most significant improvement, rising four places to 113th in the world. In contrast, Indonesia dropped four positions to 110th, while Malaysia slipped three places to 95th. Laos also fell four spots in the latest rankings. Singapore moved up one place to 151st, while Timor-Leste currently occupies 158th position. Brunei remains unranked by FIFA.

Vietnam’s ability to maintain its position at the top of Southeast Asia comes at a time when competition across the region continues to intensify. The latest rankings reflect the team’s stability and sustained performance, providing a strong foundation as the Golden Star Women prepare for upcoming continental and international challenges.
