South Korea, 2 July 2026 – Vietnam national team has officially begun its training camp in South Korea as preparations intensify for the defense of its ASEAN Cup crown later this month.
On the afternoon of July 2, head coach Kim Sang Sik and his squad arrived in Incheon, South Korea, after their flight landed at Incheon International Airport at 4:35 p.m. local time. The overseas camp marks the most important phase of Vietnam’s build-up to the 2026 ASEAN Cup.
The team will stay at a hotel conveniently located near the training facilities, with accommodation, meals, and other logistical arrangements meeting national team standards. The setup is designed to provide the players with the best possible environment to focus on training and match preparation throughout the two-week camp.
After checking into the hotel, the squad had dinner before taking the evening to rest and recover from the journey. Vietnam will hold its first training session in South Korea on the afternoon of July 3.

According to the schedule, the training camp will run until July 14, during which Vietnam will play three friendly matches against progressively stronger opposition. The Golden Star Warriors will first face Siheung FC of K League 3 on July 5, followed by Yongin FC from K League 2 on July 8. The final and toughest test will come on July 13 against Gangwon FC, a club competing in K League 1.
The South Korea camp is regarded as a crucial stage of Vietnam’s preparations, giving Kim Sang Sik and his coaching staff an opportunity to further evaluate the squad, assess each player’s form, and refine tactical plans ahead of the tournament.
Following the conclusion of the training camp, Vietnam will return home on July 14 before taking on Myanmar in an international friendly on July 18. The match will serve as the team’s final warm-up before launching its campaign to defend the 2026 ASEAN Cup title.
