Hanoi, 16 July 2026 – According to the latest V.League 1 – 2026/27 transfer updates, Cong An Ha Noi FC have finalized an agreement to appoint Paulo Mourinho as the club’s new assistant coach. The Portuguese tactician, born in 1987, will join head coach Alexandre Polking’s backroom staff as the reigning V.League 1 champions continue strengthening their coaching setup.
The club confirmed the appointment in an official statement:
“Cong An Ha Noi FC are pleased to announce the appointment of Paulo Mourinho as Assistant Head Coach. This addition is part of the club’s plan to further strengthen the coaching staff under Head Coach Alexandre Polking. We wish Mr. Paulo Mourinho every success and hope he achieves many accomplishments with the capital club.”
Paulo Mourinho, who holds Portuguese nationality, is no stranger to Polking. The two previously worked together at Bangkok United in 2018, forming a productive partnership that the club hopes will quickly translate into success in Hanoi. Their existing understanding is expected to enhance the team’s tactical preparation and overall technical standards.
The appointment underlines Cong An Ha Noi FC’s determination to remain among Vietnam’s elite during the 2026/27 campaign. In addition to defending their V.League title, the club has set its sights on competing strongly in both domestic cup competitions and international tournaments.
Alongside reinforcing the coaching staff, Cong An Ha Noi FC have also been active in the transfer market. The club has already signed Damià Sabater, Y Eli Nie, and David Henen, while securing contract extensions for several key players to maintain squad depth and ensure they remain competitive across all competitions in the upcoming season.
