Hanoi, 30 July 2026 – The Continental Futsal Championship Thailand 2026 will take place from August 1 to 6 at the Nonthaburi Gymnasium in Thailand, featuring five high-quality national teams—Russia, Thailand, Afghanistan, Vietnam, and New Zealand. Every match of the tournament will be broadcast live and exclusively on FPT Play.
First launched in 2021, the Continental Futsal Championship has quickly established itself as one of Asia’s premier annual international futsal tournaments. Each edition brings together strong national teams, providing a highly competitive environment where coaches can test tactical approaches, evaluate players, and prepare their squads for major international competitions.
This year’s tournament features teams from Europe, Asia, and Oceania, with all five nations competing in a single round-robin format. Each team will face every other opponent once, and the side finishing with the most points will be crowned champion. The format guarantees a series of high-quality contests from the opening day of competition.
The tournament’s international diversity has become one of its biggest attractions. By bringing together teams with different playing styles and footballing cultures, the event has earned a reputation as one of Southeast Asia’s strongest annual futsal competitions and serves as an important platform for international preparation ahead of the global futsal calendar.
For the Vietnam national futsal team, the tournament represents one of the toughest and most valuable preparation opportunities of the year. The Red Warriors will face opponents with contrasting tactical identities throughout the competition.
Among them is Russia, one of the traditional powerhouses of world futsal and a former FIFA Futsal World Cup runner-up. Thailand remain Southeast Asia’s leading futsal nation and are regular participants at the FIFA Futsal World Cup, while Afghanistan have emerged as one of Asia’s fastest-improving teams in recent years. New Zealand, representing Oceania, are known for their physicality, pace, and relentless style of play.
According to the official schedule, Vietnam will begin their campaign against Russia on August 1, before taking on New Zealand (August 2), Afghanistan (August 3), and hosts Thailand (August 5).
Beyond the results, the tournament offers Vietnam’s coaching staff a valuable opportunity to assess the squad, refine tactical systems, and build momentum ahead of upcoming international competitions.
