Hanoi, 19 August 2026 – Vietnam booked their place in the ASEAN Cup 2026 final after defeating Malaysia 2-0 in the semifinal second leg at My Dinh National Stadium on August 19, completing an emphatic 4-0 aggregate victory.
The result sets up a highly anticipated final between Vietnam and Thailand, two of Southeast Asian football’s biggest rivals. The first leg will kick off at 20:00 on August 22 at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok, before the title is decided in the return leg at 20:00 on August 26 at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi.
Shortly after Vietnam’s victory over Malaysia, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced its ticketing plan for the home leg of the final.
Tickets will be available in four price categories: VND 500,000, VND 800,000, VND 1.2 million and VND 1.5 million. Sales will be conducted exclusively through the Techcombank OneU app, formerly known as OneU.
Online sales are scheduled to open at 14:00 on August 20 and will close at 20:00 on August 21, or earlier if all available tickets are sold. Supporters will be permitted to purchase a maximum of four tickets per transaction, with ticket collection expected to begin on August 25.

Prices for the final represent a noticeable increase compared with Vietnam’s semifinal second leg against Malaysia. Tickets for that match were offered at VND 300,000, VND 500,000, VND 700,000 and VND 1 million.
Despite the lower-profile semifinal prices, demand was extremely high, with large numbers of supporters packing My Dinh to back Kim Sang-sik’s side even amid heavy rain.
Ticket prices were cheaper still during the group stage. For Vietnam’s home matches against Singapore and Cambodia, the four categories were priced at VND 200,000, VND 300,000, VND 400,000 and VND 500,000.
With another regional title now just two matches away, Vietnam will have little time to celebrate their semifinal success. The squad are scheduled to travel to Bangkok on August 20 to begin preparations for the opening leg against Thailand.
Thailand secured their place in the final after surviving a dramatic semifinal against Singapore, eventually advancing 4-3 on aggregate.
Their hard-fought qualification underlines the challenge awaiting Vietnam. With Kim Sang-sik’s side aiming to successfully defend their ASEAN Cup crown, another fierce chapter in the long-running Vietnam-Thailand rivalry is set to unfold, beginning at Rajamangala before the trophy is decided four days later at My Dinh.
