Hanoi 27 April 2026 – Midfield captain Nguyen Van Quyet—who recently stirred debate following comments about Nguyen Hoang Duc after the match against Ninh Binh FC—will be suspended for Round 21 of the V.League 1 2025–2026 season.
In the clash with Ninh Binh, Van Quyet received a yellow card after a foul on Dung Quang Nho. It was his third booking of the season, automatically ruling him out of the next round. Despite the suspension, his recent performances have been impressive, helping Hanoi FC maintain strong form and close in on the top three after Round 20.
In that same match, Van Quyet not only led the midfield effectively but also scored Hanoi FC’s third goal. However, his post-match remarks about Ninh Binh’s playing style and Hoang Duc quickly sparked attention on social media.
Alongside Van Quyet, experienced players such as Duy Manh, Hung Dung, and Thanh Chung have played key roles in Hanoi FC’s late-season push.
In their remaining six matches, Hanoi FC will avoid most of the top teams, facing Da Nang, Thanh Hoa, PVF, Nam Dinh, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, and Ho Chi Minh City Police. However, matches against Da Nang and PVF could still prove challenging as both teams are battling relegation.
In Round 21, Hanoi FC will host Da Nang, but coach Harry Kewell faces squad concerns. Van Quyet and Thanh Chung are suspended, while Duy Manh remains a doubt due to injury. With Hanoi FC just one point behind Ninh Binh, their hopes of breaking into the top three are still very much alive.
