Ninh Binh, 26 May 2026 – Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem has officially signed a three-year contract with Ninh Binh FC, becoming the fourth head coach to lead the club during their V.League 1 era.
Ninh Binh announced the appointment on May 26, confirming that the deal will run until the end of 2029. The move reflects the club’s growing ambition and long-term vision as they aim to establish themselves as a major force in Vietnamese football.

Beyond chasing trophies, the club’s leadership wants to build a team with a clear identity, modern playing philosophy, and an entertaining style capable of leaving a strong impression on supporters.
At the same time, Ninh Binh also view youth development as a key pillar of their long-term strategy. The appointment of Chu Dinh Nghiem is considered an ideal fit for that direction. In addition to his trophy success, Chu Dinh Nghiem earned praise for implementing a modern tactical system and developing young players. He later continued to impress at Hai Phong FC, helping the club maintain strong competitiveness and a recognizable playing style. Under his leadership, Hai Phong finished runners-up in the 2022 V.League season and consistently remained among the league’s top sides in recent years.

To support the club’s long-term ambitions, Ninh Binh have decided to hand full professional authority to Chu Dinh Nghiem. He will oversee tactical planning, squad building, recruitment, and transfer strategy.
According to club representatives, granting the coach full control is essential for creating continuity and building a sustainable football project rather than focusing only on short-term seasonal objectives.
The contract until 2029 highlights the confidence Ninh Binh’s leadership has in Chu Dinh Nghiem and their determination to create an ambitious club capable of contributing significantly to Vietnamese football.
Club chairman Nguyen Duc Thuy emphasized that Ninh Binh aim to build a team known for unity, fighting spirit, passion, and pride representing the ancient capital. Beyond domestic success, the club also hopes to eventually compete at Southeast Asian and Asian levels while developing a strong football academy capable of producing talented young players for the future of Vietnamese football.
Speaking after signing the contract, Chu Dinh Nghiem said: “I did not come to Ninh Binh FC only to pursue results. Together with the club’s leadership, I want to build a team with a unique identity, a clear style of play, and a lasting connection with the fans. I want the players to always compete with unity, determination, fighting spirit, and hunger for victory. A strong team is not just about talented individuals, but about collective discipline and the willingness to fight for the club colors.”
Currently, Ninh Binh sit fourth in the V.League 1 standings with 45 points, level with Hanoi FC but behind on head-to-head record. Under Chu Dinh Nghiem, the club are targeting a top-three finish as well as the National Cup title. Ninh Binh have already reached the semi-finals and will host The Cong Viettel on June 11.
