Hai Phong FC unveil six new signings in major squad rebuild ahead of 2026/27 season

Hai Phong, 30 June 2026 – Hai Phong FC made a strong statement in the V.League transfer market on June 29 by officially unveiling six new signings for the 2026/27 season, signaling the club’s determination to rebuild following a summer of significant changes.

The Port City club entered the off-season amid uncertainty after the departure of long-serving head coach Chu Dinh Nghiem and several key first-team players following the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign. However, the arrival of six new faces has quickly eased concerns among supporters and highlighted the club’s ambition for the new season.

The headline signing is Serbian striker Milan Makaric, who impressed Vietnamese football fans during the 2025/26 season with SHB Da Nang, scoring 11 goals. Known for his physical presence, intelligent movement, and clinical finishing, Makaric is expected to lead Hai Phong FC’s attack and provide the firepower the club has been seeking.

Alongside the experienced foreign forward, Hai Phong FC have also focused on strengthening their domestic talent pool by securing the loan signings of three promising youngsters from The Cong Viettel: Dang Tuan Phong, Nguyen Cong Phuong, and Nguyen Ngoc Tu.

Both midfielder Nguyen Cong Phuong and center-back Dang Tuan Phong recently played important roles in helping U23 Vietnam capture the men’s football gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games. Their arrivals are expected to inject energy, quality, and greater competition into the squad as Hai Phong look to build for both the present and the future.

The club has also reinforced its defensive unit with the signing of center-back Huynh Tuan Vu from Hoang Anh Gia Lai. Highly regarded for his defensive awareness and positioning, Tuan Vu adds valuable depth to the back line. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Ho Viet Dai has joined on a free transfer, giving the coaching staff another reliable option between the posts.

The six new arrivals represent only the first phase of Hai Phong FC’s recruitment drive as preparations continue for what is expected to be a highly competitive 2026/27 V.League season. With the transfer window still open, the club is expected to remain active in the market as it looks to further strengthen the squad.

After a summer of sweeping changes, Hai Phong FC are entering a new chapter with renewed optimism. The club hopes its blend of experienced signings and emerging young talent will provide a solid foundation for a successful campaign and restore confidence among supporters at Lach Tray Stadium.
