Hanoi, 9 July 2026 – This morning (July 9, 2026), Cong An Ha Noi FC officially announced the signing of goalkeeper Y Eli Nie ahead of the 2026/27 season. The move is aimed at strengthening the squad’s depth and increasing competition for the No. 1 spot at the reigning V.League champions.
Born in 2001, Y Eli Nie stands 1.82 meters tall and is widely recognized for his sharp reflexes and excellent shot-stopping ability. During the 2025/26 season, he was one of the standout performers for Dong A Thanh Hoa, making 20 official appearances across all competitions.
The goalkeeper has built an impressive résumé, having won the 2016 National U15 Championship, represented Vietnam at the U18, U19, and U20 levels, and helped Vietnam U23 lift the 2022 AFF U23 Championship. One of the most memorable moments of his career came in Round 10 of last season’s V.League, when he was unexpectedly deployed as a striker after being substituted on due to an acute shortage of outfield players at his former club.
At Cong An Ha Noi FC, Y Eli Nie will compete with experienced goalkeepers Filip Nguyen and Trinh Dinh Minh Hoang for a place in the starting lineup. His arrival provides the club with greater depth between the posts as Cong An Ha Noi prepares to defend its V.League title while competing on multiple fronts, including the AFC Champions League Elite and the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup.
