Ninh Binh, 23 July 2026 – Ninh Binh FC have officially announced the signing of Brazilian striker Lucao as they continue strengthening their squad ahead of the 2026/27 V.League 1 campaign. The experienced forward is expected to add significant firepower to the club’s attack as they pursue their ambitions for the new season.
Born in Brazil in 1991, Lucao arrives with extensive experience and an impressive track record in Vietnamese football. Since making his move to the V.League, he has represented several top-flight clubs, including Hanoi FC, SHB Da Nang, and Hai Phong FC. In June 2025, he joined The Cong Viettel, where he continued to demonstrate his consistency in front of goal.
Standing 1.84 meters tall, Lucao is a classic center-forward known for his physical presence, aerial ability, and clinical finishing. During the 2025/26 season, he made 29 appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists, making him one of the league’s most productive attacking players.

His consistency extends well beyond a single campaign. Across his V.League 1 career, Lucao has recorded 52 goals and 20 assists in 102 league appearances, while also adding seven goals in the National Cup, establishing himself as one of the competition’s most reliable foreign strikers.
One of the most intriguing aspects of the transfer is Lucao’s reunion with head coach Chu Dinh Nghiem. The pair previously worked together successfully, with the Brazilian producing some of the best football of his career under the experienced tactician. Ninh Binh will be hoping that partnership can once again deliver strong results.
Lucao is also set to reunite with former teammate Friday, giving Ninh Binh an experienced and potentially formidable attacking partnership. The duo are expected to spearhead the club’s frontline and play a key role as Ninh Binh aim to establish themselves among the V.League’s 1 top contenders in the 2026/27 season.
