Hanoi FC and PVF advance to the 2026 national U17 championship semifinals

Pleiku, 25 July 2026 – The remaining quarterfinal matches of the 2026 National U17 Championship took place on the afternoon of July 25 at Pleiku Stadium and Ham Rong Training Centre in Gia Lai.

At Pleiku Stadium, Hanoi FC faced PVF-CAND. Featuring several members of the Vietnam U17 squad that qualified for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup, Hanoi FC dominated the contest and created numerous scoring opportunities.

After applying sustained attacking pressure, the capital-based side finally broke the deadlock in the 59th minute. Minh Duc rose to meet a cross and produced a precise header to give Hanoi FC the lead. The solitary goal proved decisive as Hanoi FC secured a 1-0 victory and a place in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, PVF took on Song Lam Nghe An at Ham Rong Training Centre. The match was tightly contested and featured several intense challenges from both sets of young players. Song Lam Nghe An played more proactively but struggled to apply consistent pressure on the PVF defense.

The breakthrough arrived in the 79th minute when Viet Duy took advantage of an opening, raced into space and calmly finished past the goalkeeper to put Song Lam Nghe An ahead.

The match appeared to be heading toward a 1-0 victory for Song Lam Nghe An. However, in the fourth minute of stoppage time, Dang Khoa scored with a header to dramatically equalize for PVF and send the quarterfinal into a penalty shootout.

PVF displayed greater composure from the spot and won the shootout 4-2 after two Song Lam Nghe An players failed to convert their attempts. The victory secured PVF’s place in the semifinals.

The four semifinalists in the 2026 National U17 Championship have now been confirmed: Hanoi FC, PVF, Hue and Da Nang. The semifinal matches will be played on July 27.
