Pleiku, 29 July 2026 – U17 PVF lifted the 2026 National U17 Championship – Red Dragon Cup trophy after a commanding 3-0 victory over U17 Hue in the final at Pleiku Stadium on July 29.
Featuring several members of the Vietnam U17 national team, PVF asserted their dominance from the opening whistle and controlled the match throughout. Their superior quality and relentless attacking play left Hue with little opportunity to threaten.
The breakthrough arrived in the 19th minute when Nam Hieu won possession high up the pitch before firing a shot that the Hue goalkeeper failed to hold. Dinh Son reacted quickest to the rebound, tapping the ball into the net to give PVF a deserved lead.
After opening the scoring, PVF continued to dictate the game, creating numerous chances while limiting Hue to very few opportunities. The scoreline could have been even more convincing before halftime if not for several important saves and missed chances.
Hue came out with greater attacking intent in the second half, pushing more players forward in search of an equalizer. However, their aggressive approach left space at the back, allowing PVF to capitalize on quick transitions. In the 51st minute, a dangerous free kick caused problems for the Hue goalkeeper, who spilled the ball into the path of Sy Bach. The striker made no mistake, calmly slotting home to double PVF’s advantage.
PVF maintained complete control for the remainder of the match and continued to create opportunities. Their persistence paid off again in the 86th minute when Sy Bach completed his brace with a composed finish from a tight angle, sealing a comprehensive 3-0 victory.
The convincing triumph secured PVF’s fifth National U17 Championship title in the club’s history, further strengthening the academy’s reputation as one of Vietnam’s leading producers of young football talent. Their dominant performances throughout the 2026 National U17 Championship – Red Dragon Cup culminated in a well-deserved championship, underlining the bright future of the club’s next generation.
