Hanoi, 13 August 2026 – “Truong Tuoi shapes the future generation of Vietnamese football” was the powerful message delivered at the press conference announcing the main sponsor and conducting the official draw for the 2026 National U16 Football Championship – Truong Tuoi Cup. The event was held in Hanoi on August 13, 2026.
The tournament marks a historic milestone, as the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), in partnership with Truong Tuoi Group, has launched a national competition exclusively for male U16 players for the first time. It represents an important step towards completing Vietnam’s youth development pathway across different age groups.
The inaugural tournament features 10 youth teams from professional clubs nationwide. Group A consists of Cong An Ha Noi, The Cong-Viettel, Hanoi FC, PVF-CAND, Song Lam Nghe An and Hai Phong, while Group B includes Ninh Binh, LPBank Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Cong An Ho Chi Minh City and Becamex Ho Chi Minh City.

The qualifying round will take place from August 22 to November 29, 2026, using a home-and-away format. The four best-performing teams will advance to the Final Round, which is scheduled to be held in December 2026.
With the National U16 Championship being organized for the first time and supported by Truong Tuoi Group, Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) hopes the competition will become a stable, high-quality platform for identifying and developing young talents, while contributing to the continued improvement of Vietnam’s youth football development system.
The launch is particularly significant as Truong Tuoi Group has committed to sponsoring the tournament for three consecutive years, from 2026 to 2028. Guided by its philosophy of “Creating Value – Accompanying and Sharing,” the company believes that investing in youth football means investing in the future of Vietnamese football.
Truong Tuoi Group has previously devoted substantial resources to Truong Tuoi Binh Phuoc Football Club and the establishment of the Truong Tuoi Football Academy. These initiatives demonstrate its long-term vision of creating a comprehensive training and competitive environment where young players can develop their technical ability, discipline and resilience.
The strategic partnership between VFF and Truong Tuoi Group aims to provide a high-quality, fair and competitive platform for discovering promising talent for Vietnam’s national teams. Its success will also require close cooperation among clubs, coaches, players and media organisations as they work together to build a stronger foundation for Vietnamese football at the grassroots level.
