Despite not playing, Xuan Son remains the most valuable player in V.League 1

Nguyen Xuan Son, despite recovering from injury, remains the highest-valued player in the V-League.

At the 2024 ASEAN Cup, Xuan Son emerged as a phenomenon. After missing the first three matches, he immediately made an impact upon joining the Vietnam national team, scoring an impressive seven goals. His performances earned him both the Best Player and Top Scorer awards of the tournament.

Unfortunately, Xuan Son sustained a significant injury during the second leg of the final and now faces a lengthy recovery process. Currently undergoing specialized physical therapy designed to accelerate his return to the pitch, the Nam Dinh FC player is working diligently to regain full fitness.

Despite being sidelined, Xuan Son’s market value has surged following his stellar performance at the ASEAN Cup. According to Transfermarkt, his value has risen to €700,000, making him the most valuable player in the V-League at present. This marks an increase of €200,000 compared to his previous valuation. However, if Xuan Son remains inactive for an extended period, his market value could potentially decrease.

Interestingly, Hanoi FC’s Chidi Kwem, who was previously the most expensive player in the league at €900,000 earlier this season, has seen a significant drop in his valuation. Due to his lackluster performances for Hanoi FC since joining, Kwem’s value has declined to €600,000, ranking him as the second-highest-valued player in the V-League currently.

While Xuan Son’s injury is a setback, his high valuation reflects his potential and importance to both his club and the league. His eventual return is highly anticipated by fans and the football community alike.
