Hanoi, 22 December 2025 – On December 22, head coach Kim Sang-sik officially announced the 25-player squad of Vietnam U23 national football team as preparations begin for the AFC U23 Asian Cup.
The core of the squad consists of 23 players who recently won the men’s football gold medal at SEA Games 33. All 23 gold medalists have been retained for the upcoming continental tournament, reflecting continuity and confidence in the championship-winning group.
In addition, the coaching staff has called up two familiar faces: defender Le Van Ha (Hanoi FC) and forward Bui Vi Hao (Becamex TP.HCM). Both players have featured regularly in recent U23 camps and are highly regarded for their adaptability to Coach Kim’s tactical philosophy.

According to the plan, U23 Vietnam will regroup on December 23 to begin their formal preparation phase. On December 26, the team will depart for a training camp in Qatar, focusing on physical conditioning, tactical refinement, and squad cohesion. During this camp, the coaching staff expects to arrange a key friendly match against Syria U23 national football team, providing an important opportunity to assess personnel and fine-tune strategies ahead of the tournament.
After completing the Qatar camp, U23 Vietnam will travel to Saudi Arabia on January 1, 2026, to compete in the AFC U23 Asian Cup finals.
