Bac Ninh FC stage thrilling comeback against Quang Ninh to surge into top three

Bac Ninh, 28 February 2026 – On the afternoon of February 28, Bac Ninh FC — with Park Hang-seo serving as adviser — produced a dramatic comeback to defeat Quang Ninh 3–2 in Round 10 of the 2025–2026 First Division.

Playing at Viet Yen Stadium, the match began at a high tempo. Bac Ninh pushed forward from the opening minutes, creating sustained pressure on Quang Ninh’s defense. Despite their early dominance, it was the visitors who struck first. In the 42nd minute, following a well-worked move down the flank, Bui Quang Huy unleashed a volley inside the penalty area to give Quang Ninh the lead.

Bac Ninh responded quickly after the break. Just three minutes into the second half, Nguyen Trong Son reacted sharply to convert a rebound after veteran goalkeeper Huynh Tuan Linh failed to hold onto an initial effort. The home side maintained the momentum, and in the 67th minute, a well-executed attack down the wing ended with foreign striker Kaina Nunes heading home from close range to put Bac Ninh ahead.

However, Quang Ninh refused to surrender. Five minutes later, Nguyen Chinh Dang restored parity with a near-post header, setting up a tense finale. As the match seemed destined for a draw, Nunes emerged as the hero. Deep into stoppage time (90+2), he capitalized on a corner kick, tapping in from close range to seal a thrilling 3–2 victory for Bac Ninh.

The win lifted coach Paulo Foiani’s side to third place in the standings with 19 points. They are level on points with Khanh Hoa but trail on goal difference (+4 compared to +6).

In another fixture at 6 PM, PVF-CAND youth team hosted Thanh Nien Ho Chi Minh City and delivered a commanding 7–0 victory. Coach Nguyen Duy Dong’s men overwhelmed the bottom-placed side, with goals from Nguyen Nhu Tuan, Trinh Long Vu, Doan Huy Long, Le Thang Long, and a hat-trick from Nguyen Hoang Anh. One of the standout moments came in first-half stoppage time when Trinh Long Vu curled a clever corner directly toward goal, catching goalkeeper Phan Dinh Vu Hai off guard as the ball ended up in the net.

The emphatic win propelled the PVF-CAND youth team to sixth place with 14 points, while Thanh Nien Ho Chi Minh City remain rooted to the bottom with just three points.
