Hanoi, 27 February 2026 – On the evening of February 27, the Vietnam Women’s National Team officially departed from Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, beginning their journey to compete at the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Australia.
According to the travel schedule, the team first flew from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City before connecting to Perth on a flight departing at 12:55 AM. The squad is expected to arrive in Perth at 8:50 AM local time.
The team had gathered for training since January 15 in preparation for this major tournament. As part of their build-up, they traveled to China from February 7 to 14 for an overseas training camp, where they played two high-quality friendly matches against the China Women’s National Team. These fixtures allowed the coaching staff to assess the squad, test tactical options, and improve overall coordination on the pitch.
After more than a month of intensive preparation, focusing on technical work, physical conditioning, and tactical refinement, coach Mai Duc Chung and his players are fully ready for their first major competition of 2026, carrying strong determination into the tournament.
Arriving early in Australia will give the team valuable time to adjust to the local climate and playing conditions, while also finalizing their preparations before the continental campaign begins.
Vietnam will kick off their Group C campaign against India on March 4. They will then face Chinese Taipei on March 7 and Japan on March 10, with all matches scheduled to take place at Perth Rectangular Stadium.
