Hanoi, 12 March 2026 – Two Korean referees will officiate the Round 16 V.League 1 2025/2026 match between Ninh Binh FC and Hanoi Police FC.
According to the schedule for Round 16 of V.League 1 2025/2026, the most anticipated fixture is the clash between Ninh Binh FC and Hanoi Police FC. The match will take place at 6:00 PM on March 14 at Ninh Binh Stadium and is expected to have a major impact on the ongoing title race.
Notably, the tournament organizers have decided to appoint a refereeing team from South Korea to oversee what is considered the headline match of the round. According to information released by VPF, referees Kim Woo-sung and Choi Cheol-jun will be responsible for officiating the game.
Referee Kim Woo-sung, born in 1987, is a familiar figure in Vietnamese football in recent years. He has officiated numerous matches involving Vietnamese national teams, including the ASEAN Cup 2024 semifinal between Vietnam and Singapore.
In addition, the Korean referee has extensive experience in major continental competitions. He has officiated matches in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, the AFC U23 Championship, and the prestigious AFC Champions League.
In V.League, during the 2024/2025 season, Kim Woo-sung also took charge of the match between Hanoi Police FC and Hanoi FC at Hang Day Stadium. He currently holds the AFC Elite Referee status, the highest level for international referees in Asian football.
Meanwhile, Choi Cheol-jun, born in 1994, will officiate a V.League match for the first time. He is currently listed among the referees regularly officiating in K League 1, the top division of South Korean football.
At present, Hanoi Police FC lead the V.League 1 standings with 35 points after 14 matches, while Ninh Binh FC, following a recent run of inconsistent results, have dropped to third place with 28 points.
