In an exciting development for Vietnamese volleyball, Bich Tuyen, a prominent player in the sport, has been officially invited by the Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO) for a try-out in the prestigious Korean National Volleyball League. This invitation is a testament to Tuyen’s exceptional skills and her potential impact on the international stage.
According to information disclosed by a professional broker, Bich Tuyen’s participation and successful enlistment in a Korean club could result in a staggering income of up to 3 billion VND. This figure is significantly high, especially when compared to the earnings of most Vietnamese athletes, highlighting the lucrative opportunities available in the Korean volleyball scene.
The Korean Volleyball Federation has made a strategic move to increase the salaries for Asian athletes competing in Korea. Female Asian volleyball players are set to receive substantial salaries, with the first year’s salary starting at 120,000 USD (approximately 3 billion VND) and the second year’s salary increasing to 150,000 USD (around 3.8 billion VND), beginning from the 2024/2025 season. This decision underscores Korea’s commitment to attracting top talent from Asia and improving the competitive level of their league.
Bich Tuyen’s invitation marks a significant opportunity for Vietnamese volleyball players to showcase their talents on an international platform. Currently, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is the only Vietnamese volleyball player known to earn billions of VND, playing for the Japanese club PFU Blue Cats. Tuyen’s potential move to Korea could not only elevate her career but also inspire other Vietnamese athletes to pursue opportunities abroad, enhancing the visibility and stature of Vietnamese volleyball on the global stage.
