U23 Vietnam arrived at Tajikistan for training matches

After a long flight with a layover in Dubai, the Vietnam U23 team arrived in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, early this morning (March 18) Vietnam time.

This is a training and friendly match trip for the Vietnam U23 team in preparation for the AFC U23 Championship 2024 to be held in Qatar next April. During this training trip, the Vietnam U23 team will play two friendly matches against the Tajikistan U23 team, respectively on March 20 and March 23. Both matches will be held at the Republic Central Stadium in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

The weather in Dushanbe is not too cold anymore, with temperatures ranging from 10 to 20 degrees Celsius. However, to ensure the players’ health, the Vietnam Football Federation has also carefully prepared warming equipment for the team.
In Dushanbe, the Vietnam U23 team is accommodated at the Atlas Hotel, located about 15 minutes by bus from the airport and less than 10 km from the stadium.

After settling down in Dushanbe, the team will have its first training session this afternoon. Since Head Coach Philippe Troussier is currently leading the Vietnam national team in two matches against Indonesia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers (the first leg on March 21 at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, the second leg on March 26 at My Dinh National Stadium), Assistant Coach Moulay Lahsen has been entrusted with the responsibility of managing the Vietnam U23 team during the training and match period in Tajikistan. Accompanying Assistant Coach Moulay Lahsen are Assistant Coach Truong Dinh Luat, Goalkeeper Coach Ngo Viet Trung, analyst Le Minh Dung, the medical team, caregivers, and the logistics department.
