Coach Troussier is strict during the training session before the rematch with Indonesia.

Coach Philippe Troussier’s intensity during Vietnam national team’s training session at My Dinh Stadium on March 25th reflects the high stakes of the upcoming rematch against Indonesia in the World Cup 2026 qualifiers.

Facing the challenge of reviving Vietnam’s campaign after the loss on March 21st, Troussier’s demand for focus and calm reflects his strategic preparation to ensure a crucial victory on home ground. This scenario underscores the inherent pressure in competitive football, especially in critical qualifiers where outcomes can significantly impact coaching tenures and team progress.

This is the official practice session, so the media are allowed to work for about 15 minutes.
On March 23 and 24, the team had closed training sessions after returning from Indonesia. Vietnam did not report any injuries after the trip to Jakarta or during the two most recent training sessions.
The players were divided into two groups, each with 10 players playing on half the pitch, mainly focusing on passing, coordination, and movement. The remaining five players were always ready to substitute, while the three goalkeepers trained in a different area.
The French coach moves around a lot, occasionally stopping the play to give decisive instructions when players move incorrectly or make a bad pass.
