In the latest FIFA rankings, the Vietnam national team dropped 10 places, while the Indonesia national team saw the world’s fastest climb.
On the afternoon of April 4th, FIFA released the latest rankings for men’s national football teams. Accordingly, the Vietnam national team fell 10 places to 115th in the world. On the continental level, the Vietnam national team ranks 19th. In Southeast Asia, Vietnam is in the second position, following Thailand (ranked 101).
The most significant climb globally last month belongs to the Indonesia national team, as Coach Shin Tae Yong’s team rose 8 places to 134th in the world from the previous 142nd position.
The archipelago’s team achieved this after winning 2 matches against the Vietnam national team in the World Cup 2026 qualifiers. The Indonesia national team has also risen to the 3rd position in Southeast Asia, just behind Thailand and Vietnam. The top three teams in Asia are Japan (ranked 18), Iran (ranked 20), and South Korea (ranked 23).
On a global scale, the Argentina national team leads with 1858 points, followed by France, Belgium, England, and Brazil. The other teams in the top 10 include Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and Croatia.
The next FIFA rankings will be announced on June 20th.
