On April 13, the Vietnam U23 team moved to the AFC-designated hotel for the teams participating in the U23 Asian Cup, marking the official start of the tournament’s schedule.
The squad, led by Coach Hoang Anh Tuan, is staying at Le Meriden, part of the Marriott Bonvoy chain, which is among the five-star hotels in Doha used by the AFC to accommodate tournament members and teams.
As the designated tournament hotel, it has been strategically chosen by the AFC for its convenience in terms of travel to training grounds and match venues. Sharing the hotel with the Vietnam U23 team is the Kuwait U23 team, who are in the same group in the U23 Asian Cup 2024.
Similar to the previous training phase in Qatar, the Vietnam Football Federation’s advance team arrived at the hotel a day earlier to check in and arrange the rooms according to the coaching staff’s requests.
The team’s meal plan, tailored by the team doctor, and the schedule of activities at the hotel were meticulously coordinated by the advance team with the hotel’s head chef and manager to ensure the best conditions for Coach Hoang Anh Tuan and his players. The team leader, Nguyen Quoc Hoi, is also present in Doha to support the team throughout their journey at the U23 Asian Cup 2024.
According to the schedule, on April 15, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan will make the final decision on the official list of 23 players who will participate in the U23 Asian Cup 2024.
