In a significant show of confidence, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has officially extended the contract of head coach Diego Giustozzi for an additional two years, keeping the Argentine strategist at the helm of the Vietnamese national futsal team until April 2026.
This decision follows a period of substantial progress under Giustozzi’s leadership, where the Vietnam national futsal team has shown promising developments on the international stage. Despite a challenging campaign at the Asian Futsal Championships 2024, where Vietnam narrowly missed a spot at the Futsal World Cup, the VFF’s renewal of Giustozzi’s contract underscores their belief in his vision and coaching philosophy.
Looking ahead, Coach Giustozzi’s immediate focus will be on preparing the team for the upcoming Indoor Asian Games and the AFF Futsal Cup scheduled for later this year. These tournaments are crucial for Vietnam’s futsal ambitions, providing platforms to test and enhance the team’s competitiveness against some of the best in the region and beyond.
Giustozzi’s experience and tactical acumen are expected to be pivotal in these contests, as he aims to build on the foundations laid during his tenure and propel Vietnam to new heights in futsal. His approach has been instrumental in refining the team’s playstyle and strategic executions, earning respect and admiration from players and peers alike.
The extended contract not only stabilizes the team’s coaching structure but also aligns with the VFF’s long-term goals for futsal in Vietnam, including developing local talent and enhancing the overall infrastructure for the sport.
With the continued guidance of Coach Giustozzi, the Vietnamese futsal team looks forward to a bright future, aiming to establish itself more firmly on the international futsal map and achieve greater successes in the forthcoming competitions
