Vietnam national team goalkeeper Dang Van Lam married Bui Thi Yen Xuan in Nha Trang on the afternoon of July 7, after six years of dating.
The wedding took place at a resort in an intimate setting with only 18 guests. On the white sand beach, with a small flower arch, Van Lam and Yen Xuan cut the wedding cake in the presence of their parents and a few close colleagues. The ceremony was hosted by Yen Xuan’s close friend.
Both the bride and groom promised to “share joys and dreams in life, love and respect each other forever.”
Van Lam, born in 1993, is two years younger than Yen Xuan, a personal fitness trainer. Since meeting in 2018, Yen Xuan has frequently attended stadiums to watch Van Lam play.
When Van Lam moved to Thailand to join Muangthong United (2019-2020) and later Japan to play for Cerezo Osaka (2020-2021), she accompanied him for some time before returning to Vietnam to manage her own work. Yen Xuan also spent a significant time in Russia with Van Lam’s parents and siblings. She has the full support of Van Lam’s family.
On June 9, 2024, Van Lam and Yen Xuan celebrated their six-year anniversary. Just over a week later, the 31-year-old goalkeeper proposed to her.
Yen Xuan, who was once overweight, achieved a balanced physique through scientific training and nutrition. She shared that she follows a disciplined philosophy and strives to spread positive energy in life.
In 2010, Van Lam returned to Vietnam and joined HAGL, then was loaned to Hoang Anh Attapeu in 2012. He later returned to Russia, playing for lower-division clubs Duslar and Rodina Moskva. In 2015, he joined Hai Phong, where it took him over a year to secure a starting position.
In 2019, Van Lam brought Hai Phong a $500,000 transfer fee when he joined Muangthong United. Two years later, he became the first Vietnamese player to compete in J-League 1 with Cerezo Osaka. In August 2022, Van Lam returned to Vietnam to play for Binh Dinh, where he continues to play.
