In a recent interview, Coach Nguyen Duc Thang shared insights into the decision to recruit two Brazilian foreign players, Wesley Nata and Amarildo, for The Cong – Viettel FC. Coach Thang expressed his admiration for Nata’s creative playstyle, noting that this recruitment is part of the preparation for The Cong – Viettel as Nguyen Hoang Duc has decided to leave the team. He also mentioned that Amarildo was thoroughly evaluated before signing. “I believe that the selection and utilization of foreign players will play a crucial role for all teams in the upcoming season,” said Coach Thang.
Wesley Nata: A Midfield Dynamo
Wesley Nata, standing at an impressive 1.83 meters, is a central midfielder by trade. Nata has an extensive resume, having played in the qualifiers for three of Europe’s most prestigious club competitions: the UEFA Europa Conference League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Champions League with Riga FC.
Born in 1995, Nata has previously played for top-tier Brazilian teams in Série A and Série B, including Chapecoense, Atletico Goianiense, Bahia, and Juventude. Before joining The Cong – Viettel, Nata spent five years in Europe, regularly starting for teams like Tsarsko Selo in Bulgaria’s top league, Rodina Moscow in Russia, and Riga FC in Latvia’s premier division. His aggressive style, ability to cover the pitch, and proficiency with both feet are expected to bring new energy to The Cong – Viettel’s midfield.
Speaking about his adaptation to Vietnam’s climate, Nata said, “The weather here is very hot, but I can adapt because I was born in Brazil. I am confident that I can play well even in such weather.” He also highlighted his playing style: “I am a team player, always making the best decisions for the team on the field. My strengths are passing and long-range shooting.”
Amarildo: A Forward with Versatility
Amarildo, also 1.83 meters tall, is anticipated to strengthen The Cong – Viettel’s attacking line. Born in 1999, he has five years of experience in Brazil’s Série B, playing for teams like Tombense, Resende, and Ypiranga. A right-footed striker, Amarildo is adept at scoring with both feet.
“I enjoy playing with ball control, and I bring strength and speed to the game,” Amarildo said. “I want to score goals, assist, or do anything that can help the team. I am eager to achieve our objectives with The Cong – Viettel in the new season.”
First Training Session
After completing their contracts, both new signings joined their new teammates for their first training session with The Cong – Viettel. The addition of Nata and Amarildo is expected to significantly enhance the team’s capabilities as they prepare for the upcoming season.
