After a long journey with a layover in Guangzhou, the U22 Vietnam football team has touched down in Changsha, China, where they will participate in the CFA Team China 2024 international friendly tournament.
Organized by the Chinese Football Association (CFA), this tournament is designed for youth national teams featuring players under 21 years old. The U22 Vietnam team, comprising players within this age group, sees this competition as an opportunity to gain valuable match experience and prepare for key missions in 2025.
Acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh expressed that the tournament, which features strong teams like China, Uzbekistan, and Malaysia, will not only offer the players a chance to compete and learn but also serve as an opportunity to showcase their determination and desire to win. “Each player is filled with a high level of determination and readiness to give their best for the national colors. According to the schedule, tomorrow morning (September 3), Team Manager Luu Quang Dien Bien and Assistant Coach Tran Duc Cuong will attend the pre-tournament technical meeting. In the afternoon, Head Coach Dinh Hong Vinh will participate in a press conference before leading a training session to finalize preparations for the opening match against hosts China. This match is set to kick off at 6:35 PM Vietnam time on September 4, 2024.
This friendly tournament in Changsha is viewed as a crucial step for the U22 Vietnam team to build cohesion and fine-tune their tactics ahead of more competitive engagements next year.
