According to the latest update from the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, as of 1:00 PM on September 6, the eye of Typhoon No. 3 was located at 19.7 degrees North Latitude and 111.4 degrees East Longitude, approximately 45 km from Hainan Island (China) and 485 km from Quang Ninh Province (Vietnam). The maximum wind speed near the storm’s center was recorded at level 16 (184-201 km/h), with gusts exceeding level 17. In the next few hours, the storm is expected to move west-northwest at a speed of 15-20 km/h.
With its current trajectory, Typhoon Yagi is highly likely to make landfall in northern Vietnam, and the Hanoi area is forecast to be directly affected on September 7.
According to the schedule, the match between Thailand and Russia is set to take place at 8:00 PM on September 7, precisely when Hanoi may experience heavy rain due to the storm. As of now, the organizing committee has not issued any announcements regarding changes to the match. If no adjustments are made, both teams could face the challenge of playing under extreme weather conditions.
