In the second half, Viktoria Plzen made tactical adjustments, utilizing their superior physical presence to push forward in search of a goal. Despite their efforts, the Czech club was unable to break through Vietnam’s solid defense. Vietnam held firm, securing a well-earned 3-0 victory after 90 minutes of play.

This win marked the final game of the team’s European tour. Over the two-week period, the Vietnam women’s national team played three friendly matches: on September 4 against Red Bull Leipzig (Germany), September 8 against FK Pardubice (Czech Republic), and the September 11 match against Viktoria Plzen.

Coach Mai Duc Chung called up a squad featuring several young players born between 2002 and 2006, such as Nguyen Thi Kim Yen, Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, Luu Nhu Quynh, and Ta Thi Thuy. These young talents were given the opportunity to gain valuable international experience and showcase their skills.

Speaking to Vietnam Sports News, Coach Mai Duc Chung emphasized the importance of these international matches against European clubs, which offered a chance for the Vietnamese players to test themselves against teams with greater physicality and technical ability. He noted that the tour was part of the team’s ongoing effort to refresh the squad by integrating younger players and allowing them to develop through high-level competition.

“This tour provided a great opportunity for our young players to learn and improve. Playing against strong European teams will help them gradually refine their game and improve coordination with their teammates,” said Coach Chung. He also highlighted that the focus of the trip was to continue the team’s rejuvenation process, preparing the younger generation for the major tournaments that lie ahead in the coming year.

With this successful European tour, the Vietnam women’s national team will now shift their focus to preparing for upcoming competitions, where their blend of experienced players and emerging young talents will be key to their future success.
