Quang Nam FC has been one of the most active clubs during the 2024 V-League summer transfer window. Head coach Van Sy Son has bolstered the squad with 14 new domestic players, along with two promotions from the youth team, preparing the club for the 2024/2025 season.
Most notably, Quang Nam recently introduced their new foreign signing, Brazilian forward Guimaraes Filho Carlos Alberto, commonly known as Jaco. Born in 1996, Jaco developed through the EC Bahia academy and has spent several years playing for clubs in Brazil’s national league.
Standing at 1.83 meters, Jaco is known for his excellent ball-handling skills, a hallmark of many Brazilian footballers. The decision to hand him the prestigious number 10 jersey highlights the club’s high expectations for this new signing, with coach Van Sy Son placing significant trust in Jaco’s ability to make an impact.
In the 2023/2024 season, Jaco played for Al-Arabi in Qatar, where he scored eight goals. However, adapting to the unique environment of the V-League will be crucial for Jaco if he aims to shine in Quang Nam’s lineup.
Last season, Quang Nam FC finished 11th in the league standings, and coach Van Sy Son has set an initial goal of securing safety in the 2024/2025 season.
Quang Nam FC will kick off their campaign in the first round of the 2024/2025 V-League by hosting Hoang Anh Gia Lai at Hoa Xuan Stadium at 5:00 PM on September 15. The match will be a significant test for Jaco and his new teammates as they begin their quest for a successful season.
