Bui Vi Hao shines as the national team defeats Nam Dinh FC

Vietnam national football team secured a 3-2 victory over Nam Dinh FC in a friendly match held on the evening of October 9.

This friendly match was organized as part of the preparations for Vietnam’s upcoming clash against India on October 12. Nam Dinh FC, utilizing all of their foreign players in the first half, managed to play on equal terms with the national team.

Despite Nam Dinh’s solid performance, it was the Vietnam team that struck first, with Thai Son finding the back of the net. However, Nam Dinh responded well and turned the game around, taking a 2-1 lead by halftime. In the second half, Nam Dinh coach Vu Hong Viet substituted key foreign players such as Lucas, Hendrio, Caio, Lucas Silva, Mpande, and Mota, eventually bringing off even Nguyen Xuan Son and Moses. The team switched to an all-domestic lineup, including Tran Liem Dieu, Tran Van Dat, Duong Thanh Hao, Hoang Van Khanh, Ngo Duc Huy, and Hoang Minh Tuan.

For Vietnam, coach Kim Sang Sik also refreshed the lineup by bringing in goalkeeper Filip Nguyen, center-back Que Ngoc Hai, midfielders Nguyen Hoang Duc and Le Pham Thanh Long, along with three players from Nam Dinh—Nguyen Van Toan, Nguyen Phong Hong Duy, and To Van Vu.

In the second half, Bui Vi Hao shone for the national team, scoring twice and helping Vietnam secure a 3-2 victory. This result provided valuable match practice for Vietnam as they continue their preparations for the upcoming encounter against India.

For Nam Dinh, the friendly served as a light warm-up ahead of their next V-League match against Song Lam Nghe An on October 19 and their AFC Champions League Two fixture against Tampines Rovers on October 24.
