Goalkeeper Ho Tung Han from SHB Da Nang is set to join Singapore Premier League team Balestier Khalsa on a five-month loan. Confirming this move, Phan Thanh Hung, Technical Director of SHB Da Nang’s youth teams, highlighted Han’s skills with his feet as a key factor in Balestier Khalsa’s interest, making him a versatile addition to the Singaporean side, which currently ranks fourth in the league.
Ho Tung Han, born in 2003, has been training with SHB Da Nang’s youth squad and has yet to advance to the V-League’s first team. Previously, he was called up for Vietnam’s U19 squad under coach Dinh The Nam for the 2022 Southeast Asian U19 Championship. Although he served as backup to goalkeeper Cao Van Binh during the tournament, he had one starting appearance against Brunei, which, however, ended with a red card for a contested tackle. Following a review, AFF imposed only a one-match suspension, considering the penalty harsh. Han also participated in the AFC U20 Asian Cup 2023 qualifiers but did not join the squad for the final tournament, despite Vietnam’s qualification.
Balestier Khalsa’s performance this season has been solid, with 26 points from 18 matches, positioning them fourth in the Singapore Premier League standings, though they trail leaders Lion City Sailors by 13 points, with Lion City playing one match less. The Singapore Premier League 2024/25 season is expected to conclude by the end of May 2025.
Joining Balestier Khalsa presents a valuable international opportunity for Ho Tung Han, allowing him to gain experience in a competitive foreign league. On November 1, he will head to Singapore, ready to embark on this exciting new chapter in his career.
