Thanh Hoa clinches V.League 1 September award despite HAGL’s strong performance

Despite maintaining an unbeaten streak throughout September, Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) did not secure the “Club of the Month” title for the V-League 2024/2025 season, as Thanh Hoa claimed the honor with a series of standout performances. In the selection process for September’s awards, which covered the first five rounds of the V-League season, HAGL demonstrated consistent form, avoiding any losses. However, Thanh Hoa emerged as the league’s best-performing club, exhibiting a more impressive streak with consecutive victories, ultimately earning the Vietnam Professional Football (VPF) award for September.

Under the leadership of coach Velizar Popov, Thanh Hoa maintained an unwavering resolve, dominating their matchups and setting the bar high across the league. As a result, the VPF awarded Thanh Hoa the “Club of the Month” title, acknowledging the team’s standout achievements. This accolade reflects not only the team’s performance but also the remarkable efforts of coach Popov, who was also named “Coach of the Month” for September.

In addition to team and coaching honors, individual players were recognized for their exceptional displays on the field. Geovane Magno of Hong Linh Ha Tinh was awarded “Player of the Month,” a testament to his skill and impact on the field. Magno’s performance throughout September contributed significantly to Hong Linh Ha Tinh’s standing, highlighting his role as an invaluable asset for the team. Meanwhile, the “Goal of the Month” award was claimed by Nguyen Hai Long for his outstanding goal against Hong Linh Ha Tinh, a shot that captivated fans and showcased his technical prowess.

The awards ceremony for September’s top-performing clubs and individuals will take place just before the commencement of Round 6 in the V-League 2024/2025 season. The sixth round promises an exciting lineup with seven matches scheduled from November 1st to 3rd, featuring highly anticipated encounters such as Binh Duong facing HAGL, Thanh Hoa going head-to-head with Hanoi FC, and Hai Phong FC taking on Nam Dinh.

Thanh Hoa’s achievement marks a well-deserved recognition for the club’s efforts and commitment to excellence, while HAGL’s solid performance signals the competitive intensity that lies ahead in the season. Fans can expect continued thrilling matches as clubs vie for dominance, setting the stage for an exciting journey through the V-League 2024/2025.
