Round 8 of V.League 1-2024/25: The battle at Hang Day stadium

The Cong Viettel’s Round 8 match against Thanh Hoa in the V-League 2024/2025 season will now take place at Hang Day Stadium instead of My Dinh Stadium, as per the latest announcement from the V-League organizers.

The Cong Viettel had initially designated My Dinh Stadium as their home venue for the current season. This decision was made in compliance with AFC regulations, which prohibit more than three teams from using the same stadium, a rule enforced after three clubs shared Hang Day Stadium last season. For the 2024/2025 season, both Hanoi FC and Hanoi Police FC registered Hang Day as their home ground, necessitating Viettel’s move to My Dinh.

However, My Dinh Stadium is also scheduled to host other pre-arranged events, requiring The Cong Viettel to occasionally relocate their home games. The V-League organizers have approved the change, moving the Round 8 match against Thanh Hoa to Hang Day Stadium.

The official statement from the VPF read: “Based on the report and request from The Cong Viettel to adjust the venue for the Round 8 match of the 2024/25 V-League, and in accordance with the league’s regulations and current schedule, the VPF has approved the adjustment. The match between The Cong Viettel and Thanh Hoa will take place at 7:15 p.m. on November 15, 2024, at Hang Day Stadium, Hanoi.”

This marks the second venue change for The Cong Viettel in the 2024/2025 season. In Round 5, they also played at Hang Day against Binh Duong, where they secured a 1-0 victory. The V-League organizers have advised all involved parties to update their plans and coordinate accordingly to ensure the smooth execution of the event at the new venue.
