Nam Dinh FC parts ways with Moses Odo after short stint

In a surprising move, Nam Dinh FC has decided to part ways with Nigerian midfielder Moses Odo, who joined the reigning V-League champions just two months ago in September 2024. The club signed Odo with the intention of bolstering their squad for the AFC Champions League Two 2024/2025, aiming to make a strong showing in the continental tournament.

However, during both training and official matches, Odo failed to make a significant impact. According to Nam Dinh’s latest statement, the club opted to terminate Odo’s contract before the end of the group stage in the AFC Champions League Two. During his brief time with Nam Dinh, Odo appeared in only three matches, accumulating a total of 194 minutes on the pitch. His appearances came in one match against Bangkok United and two matches versus Tampines Rovers, but he neither scored nor provided any assists, falling short of expectations.

With the departure of Moses Odo, Nam Dinh now has seven foreign players remaining in their squad. This includes Nguyen Xuan Son, formerly known as Rafaelson, who recently obtained Vietnamese citizenship. Despite Odo’s exit, Nam Dinh is confident that their current roster is sufficient to continue competing for domestic honors and advancing in continental tournaments.

Nam Dinh’s decision reflects a pragmatic approach, ensuring that the team remains adaptable and focused on its core objectives. Their current lineup, featuring a mix of experienced foreign players and local talents, is expected to maintain their competitive edge in both the V-League and AFC Champions League Two as they aim for a successful campaign.

The club’s management remains committed to refining their squad, ensuring that each player’s contributions align with Nam Dinh’s ambitions on both the national and international stages. As the AFC Champions League Two progresses, Nam Dinh FC’s fans will be watching closely to see how the team adapts following this roster change.
