Vietnam women’s futsal team continues preparations for the 2025 Asian Futsal Championship qualifiers

After winning the 2024 Southeast Asia Women’s Futsal Championship, the Vietnam Women’s Futsal Team returned to the country in high spirits, fulfilling their mission with excellence. The team had a month of intense training in Vietnam followed by seven days of competitive matches in the Philippines.

With meticulous preparation and guidance from head coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang and assistant coach Trinh Nguyen Thanh Hang, the team successfully defeated Myanmar, Indonesia, and the host Philippines, and only lost to Thailand in their final group stage match. This strong performance secured them a spot in the final.

In the final match against Thailand on November 21, the Vietnam Women’s Futsal Team displayed exceptional skill and determination, winning 2-1 and claiming the Southeast Asia title. The victory was a proud moment for the team and the nation.

Reflecting on the achievement, Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang expressed his pride, stating that the players had an unforgettable night and were still overwhelmed with joy upon arriving at Tan Son Nhat and Noi Bai airports. “I am very happy and proud. This victory is a stepping stone for our team to gain confidence and continue developing in the future,” he shared.

Following their success in the Philippines, the players returned to Vietnam, greeted warmly by fans at Tan Son Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi. At Noi Bai, VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu and other representatives were there to congratulate the team on their victory.

The Vietnam Women’s Futsal Team’s next challenge will be the 2025 AFC Women’s Futsal Championship Qualifiers, which will take place in Myanmar from January 15 to January 19, 2025. Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang confirmed that the team is scheduled to start their preparations in early December to ensure they are ready for the qualifiers.

In the AFC Women’s Futsal Championship 2025 Qualifiers, Vietnam is placed in Group D with Taiwan, Macau (China), and Myanmar. The team will face Myanmar, Macau, and Taiwan on January 15, 17, and 19, 2025, respectively.
