Vietnam National Team Returns Home After Successful Training Camp in South Korea
On the afternoon of December 3, the Vietnam national team returned home after completing their training camp in South Korea. From Hanoi, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team traveled to Viet Tri city in Phu Tho province, the venue for Vietnam’s two group-stage matches in the ASEAN Cup 2024.
During their training camp in South Korea, the team achieved valuable results. Vietnam won all three of their friendly matches: defeating Daegu FC 2-0, Ulsan Citizen 2-0, and Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC 3-1.
Regarding the results of the training camp, Coach Kim Sang Sik shared: “I see the players’ skills improving every day. The team’s tactics and techniques have also significantly progressed. The players have a very strong passion for football, as well as great determination and motivation. I am pleased with that.”
After the training camp in South Korea and their return to Vietnam, Coach Kim made an important decision regarding the national team’s squad by adding three players from Nam Dinh FC to the preparation for the ASEAN Cup 2024.
The three players added to the squad are defender Nguyen Van Vi, forward Nguyen Xuan Son, and Nguyen Van Toan. These players will join the team on December 5, after completing their duties with Nam Dinh FC in the AFC Champions League Two group stage.
With these three new players, the squad now consists of 33 members. As a result, seven players will have to be cut before the official start of the ASEAN Cup 2024.
According to the plan, the Vietnam national team will continue training at Viet Tri Stadium until December 6. Afterward, they will travel to Laos to prepare for their opening match in Group B of the ASEAN Cup 2024, scheduled for December 9. Following this match, Coach Kim and his team will return to Phu Tho to prepare for their clash with Indonesia at 20:00 on December 15 at Viet Tri Stadium.
