Today (5/12), Xuan Son, Van Vi, and Van Toan will join the Vietnam national team, and Coach Kim Sang Sik will announce the official list for the 2024 ASEAN Cup.
After returning from the training camp in South Korea, the Vietnam national team began training at Viet Tri Stadium in preparation for the 2024 ASEAN Cup. In the training session on the afternoon of 4/12 at Viet Tri, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan and General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu had a meeting with and encouraged the Vietnam national team.
During the meeting, President Tran Quoc Tuan praised the team’s training spirit and efforts during this crucial phase. He emphasized the importance of the upcoming opening match in the regional tournament and expressed confidence in the abilities of Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players. He also encouraged the team to continue fostering solidarity and give their best for the national colors.
President Tran Quoc Tuan shared that with the support from VFF and meticulous preparation, this is an opportunity for the national team to showcase the strength of “The Golden Warriors.” He hoped the team would achieve the best results, starting from the group stage.
The afternoon training session on 4/12 at Viet Tri Stadium allowed the players to familiarize themselves with the official pitch, where they will play two group-stage matches. Under the direction of Coach Kim Sang Sik, the players performed well with a relaxed mindset and strong determination.
According to the schedule, today (5/12), three players from Nam Dinh FC—Nguyen Xuan Son, Nguyen Van Toan, and Nguyen Van Vi—will join the national team after completing their match in the AFC Champions League Two. Coach Kim Sang Sik is expected to finalize the list of 26 players who will compete in the tournament before the team departs for Laos on 6/12 to prepare for the opening match of Group B against the host team.
