Coach Hoang Anh Tuan parts ways with Binh Duong FC

Coach Hoang Anh Tuan has decided to part ways with Binh Duong FC during the V-League 2024/2025 break, marking an unexpected turn of events as the strategist had been with the club for less than six months.

At the beginning of the season, Hoang Anh Tuan was expected to lead Binh Duong to make a strong impact in the new campaign. He made notable statements, including expressing that Binh Duong was ready to recruit Luka Modric, if possible.

Binh Duong impressed in the early rounds of the season but gradually lost momentum due to inconsistent form. Recently, the club also announced the departure of foreign player Wellington Nem, citing underperformance throughout the season.

One of Binh Duong’s highlights in recent months was striker Tien Linh’s consistent goal-scoring, placing him at the top of the V-League’s top scorer list. However, just before the V-League took a break, Binh Duong’s form became concerning with two consecutive defeats to Hanoi and Nam Dinh. These losses left Binh Duong in 8th place in the V-League 2024/2025 standings.

With Hoang Anh Tuan’s sudden resignation, the coaching staff of Binh Duong FC is expected to undergo some changes. The club has yet to announce a replacement for the head coach position.

Hoang Anh Tuan had previously enjoyed success leading Vietnam’s youth teams, with his most notable achievement being leading the Vietnam U20 team to the 2017 U20 World Cup.
