After parting ways with head coach Hoang Anh Tuan, Binh Duong has made an unexpected move by appointing Nguyen Cong Manh as the new head coach. This decision has taken many by surprise, as Nguyen Cong Manh is not a well-known figure among Vietnamese football fans.
Previously, coach Cong Manh worked with the U19 and U23 national teams of Vietnam. After Hoang Anh Tuan was appointed to lead Binh Duong, Cong Manh was also included in the 18-member coaching staff.
Following Hoang Anh Tuan’s resignation due to family reasons, Binh Duong’s coaching staff has undergone significant changes, with several members leaving the team. The current coaching staff now stands at 10 members, down from the original 18 at the start of the season.
Although coach Cong Manh has never managed a V-League club before, making this a major challenge for the young coach, the long break in the V-League provides him with an opportunity to work closely with the players and implement changes.
Before the break, Binh Duong was sitting in 8th place in the V-League 2024/2025 standings. In round 10, Binh Duong will face Quy Nhon Binh Dinh at home. This match will be crucial as Cong Manh looks to make his mark and lead the team towards a better position in the league.
