Despite the cold weather, fans are hunting for tickets to support the golden star warriors

On the morning of December 12, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and the local organizing committee officially began selling tickets for two of Vietnam’s group-stage matches at the ASEAN Cup 2024. These games, against Indonesia and Myanmar, are scheduled to take place at Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho. Tickets for the two matches were made available through in-person sales, attracting thousands of eager football fans despite the chilly weather.

The tickets were sold at three price levels: VND 300,000, VND 200,000, and VND 100,000. According to the local organizing committee, a total of 3,000 tickets were allocated for each match. However, to prevent scalping and ensure fair distribution, there was a limit of two tickets per person for each game.

As early as the night before the sale, dedicated fans had already begun reserving spots in line. Many fans camped out overnight to ensure they were among the first to purchase tickets, eager to secure their place in the stands. The anticipation was palpable, and by the time the ticket booths opened at 8 AM, large crowds were gathered, ready to get their hands on tickets for what is expected to be a thrilling competition.

Within just 20 minutes of the sale starting, the VND 300,000 tickets for the Vietnam vs. Indonesia match were completely sold out, leaving fans scrambling for other price categories. The high demand reflected the immense popularity of the Vietnamese national team and the excitement surrounding the ASEAN Cup 2024.

The sale process was closely monitored by local authorities, who ensured everything ran smoothly. The police were present to maintain order and security, helping to create a safe environment for the fans. This oversight allowed for a calm and efficient process, even as the lines of supporters grew longer by the minute.

Ticket sales are expected to continue until all available tickets for both matches are sold. The match against Indonesia, in particular, has drawn significant interest due to the rivalry between the two teams and Indonesia’s strong performance in recent international tournaments. Fans are eager to witness their national team in action and show their support for Vietnam’s quest to win the ASEAN Cup 2024.

With the excitement of the tournament now building, it’s clear that Vietnam’s matches will be among the most highly anticipated events in the region. Fans are ready to pack the stands, and the atmosphere at Viet Tri Stadium promises to be electric as the tournament unfolds.
