Despite Suspension, Indonesia star still travels to Vietnam

Despite being suspended for the upcoming match against Vietnam, Indonesia’s brightest star, midfielder Marselino Ferdinan, will travel with his teammates to Vietnam for the ASEAN Cup 2024.

On December 12, Indonesia faced Laos at home in their second match of Group B. The game ended in a 3-3 draw, a surprising result for the Indonesian side.

In the 69th minute of the match, Marselino Ferdinan was shown a second yellow card after a rough foul on Phommathep of Laos, resulting in a red card. He had already received his first yellow card in the 40th minute for a dangerous challenge on Bounphachan Bounkong. As a result, Ferdinan will miss Indonesia’s next match against Vietnam on December 15.

Despite the suspension, Ferdinan, along with his teammates, made the decision to travel to Vietnam on the evening of December 13. This move comes as a surprise, given that Ferdinan has been playing consistently in various competitions with Indonesia and has had little time to rest.

The decision to bring Ferdinan to Vietnam is seen as a gesture of support from the team, as the player remains a crucial part of Indonesia’s plans. His absence will undoubtedly be felt on the pitch, but his leadership and presence off the field will continue to be important for the team as they face Vietnam.

The highly anticipated match between Vietnam and Indonesia will take place at 8:00 PM on December 15 at Viet Tri Stadium in Phu Tho, and will be a crucial encounter for both teams in the ASEAN Cup 2024.
