Goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung joins SHB Da Nang after leaving Ho Chi Minh City FC

Goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung has officially signed with Da Nang FC during the break in the V-League 2024/2025 season. This move follows his decision to leave Ho Chi Minh City FC, where he struggled to secure a starting position against Vietnam-born keeper Patrik Le Giang.

Da Nang FC announced the signing on their official page, stating:
“With his talent and top-level experience, Bui Tien Dung is expected to be a reliable presence between the posts and will fight alongside his teammates to achieve the club’s goals this season.”

Da Nang FC becomes the sixth V-League club in Bui Tien Dung’s career. The 1997-born goalkeeper previously played for Thanh Hoa, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi Police FC, and Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

The transfer is considered beneficial for both parties. Da Nang has struggled with goalkeeping consistency this season, with Phan Van Bieu, Pham Van Cuong, and Dang Tuan Hung all getting chances but failing to solidify the position.

After nine rounds, Da Nang FC sits at the bottom of the V-League standings and has conceded the most goals in the league (17). This poor start prompted the club to make managerial changes. Cristiano Roland, the coach who recently led Vietnam’s U17 team to qualify for the 2025 AFC U17 Asian Cup, has replaced Truong Viet Hoang as head coach.

With the league set to resume, Da Nang FC aims to climb out of the relegation zone. Bui Tien Dung and his new teammates will face a challenging test in their first match back against Hanoi FC at home on January 19.
