Hanoi FC strengthens their squad with a Slovenian champion

Hanoi FC has announced the successful acquisition of Luka Bobičanec, a Croatian midfielder who recently made his mark in the UEFA Europa Conference League during the 2024/2025 season. Bobičanec, born in 1993, is expected to bring European experience and versatility to the capital club as they aim to strengthen their squad for the second half of the V-League season.

Bobičanec has had an impressive career, spending significant time at Slovenian club Celje. During his tenure, he competed in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers and the Europa Conference League, showcasing his skills on the continental stage. He also contributed to Celje’s success in securing the Slovenian domestic league title in the previous season.

Known for his attacking prowess, Bobičanec primarily plays as an attacking midfielder but is equally adept in central midfield and on the wings. His versatility and experience in high-pressure matches are expected to provide Hanoi FC with tactical flexibility and creativity in the final third.

In a statement on their official website, Hanoi FC confirmed that Bobičanec has completed his medical examinations and is ready to join the squad. The Croatian midfielder is expected to make his debut on January 24, 2025, when Hanoi FC faces Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) in a highly anticipated V-League Round 11 fixture.

Hanoi FC, one of the most successful clubs in Vietnamese football, continues to bolster its roster as it aims to reclaim dominance in the V-League. The addition of Luka Bobičanec aligns with the club’s strategy of combining experienced foreign players with its talented domestic core.

The move has generated excitement among fans, who are eager to see how the Croatian midfielder will adapt to the Vietnamese league and contribute to Hanoi FC’s ambitions. As the V-League intensifies, Bobičanec’s arrival could be a game-changer in the race for the championship.

Fans are looking forward to witnessing his impact when Hanoi FC takes on HAGL later this month, a match that could set the tone for the rest of their season.
