Hoang Anh Gia Lai heavily fined ahead of the decisive match against Hanoi FC

On January 24, Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) will travel to Hang Day Stadium to face Hanoi FC in round 11 of the 2024/2025 V-League season. Ahead of this crucial match, HAGL received unfavorable news as the team has been fined by the league organizers.

The disciplinary committee fined HAGL 4 million VND for accumulating seven yellow cards (six players and one staff member) in their recent match against Ho Chi Minh City FC.

Among the players booked in that match was center-back Jairo, who has now accrued three yellow cards this season. As a result, Jairo will miss the upcoming game against Hanoi FC due to suspension.

This leaves HAGL with only one foreign player, Marciel, available for the match unless the team can quickly sign a replacement. The absence of Jairo represents a significant blow for HAGL, as their squad depth is limited, with substitutes unable to fully compensate for the absence of key starters.

Meanwhile, Hanoi FC faces no suspension-related issues ahead of this game. The capital club is further bolstered by three new additions from the mid-season transfer window: Pierre Lamothe, Daniel Passira, and Luka Bobičanec. These reinforcements make Hanoi FC a formidable opponent, particularly at Hang Day Stadium, where they have defeated HAGL in their last three encounters.

With the odds stacked against them and a depleted roster, HAGL faces a challenging task in their quest to secure points against the in-form Hanoi FC in this highly anticipated clash.
