Hanoi FC extends contract with national team defender till 2030

According to the latest V-League transfer news, Hanoi FC extended the contract of Vietnam national team center-back Nguyen Thanh Chung until 2030. His previous contract was set to run until 2027, but both sides agreed to an early extension.

Debuting for Hanoi FC’s first team at 19 years old, Thanh Chung has gradually established himself as a key defensive anchor for the club.

Developed through the Hanoi Youth Football Training Center, Thanh Chung and his teammates won multiple titles from U17 to U21 before coach Chu Dinh Nghiem promoted him to the first team. Over his nine-year tenure, he played a vital role in Hanoi FC’s V-League titles in 2016, 2018, 2019, and 2022, as well as their National Cup victories in 2019, 2020, and 2022.

“For me, Hanoi FC is always home. I have been with the club since 2008 when I was just a young player. Here, I found my love for football and my family. I am very happy to continue playing for this club until 2030”this will be the most meaningful period of my career, Thanh Chung said.

At the 2024 ASEAN Cup, Thanh Chung was a key figure for Vietnam, contributing to coach Kim Sang Sik’s squad as they clinched the championship title.
