Binh Duong, 20 May, 2025 – After appointing Coach Anh Duc to lead the team, Binh Duong Football Club has continued to strengthen its coaching staff by signing a contract with Naoki Kusunose. According to the official announcement, the Japanese strategist will serve as the assistant coach to head coach Anh Duc.
Naoki Kusunose has an impressive coaching background. He was the head coach of the Japan U17 Women’s National Team, where he led the team to a runner-up finish at the 2016 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. Additionally, Kusunose has achieved several remarkable feats, including third place at the 2017 AFC U-16 Women’s Championship, back-to-back championships in Japan’s WE League (the top professional women’s football league in Japan), and being named the league’s Coach of the Year twice in consecutive seasons.
In recent seasons, Binh Duong FC has gone through frequent managerial changes. In the 2024/2025 season alone, the club has made three managerial changes. At the beginning of the season, Coach Hoang Anh Tuan was in charge, but he parted ways with the club and was replaced by Coach Cong Manh. However, due to disappointing results, Coach Cong Manh also left, and Coach Anh Duc was appointed as the new head coach to lead the team forward.
With the addition of Kusunose to the coaching staff, Binh Duong FC hopes to bring more stability and success to the team, aiming to improve their performance in the remainder of the season. The club’s supporters will be watching closely as the new coaching setup seeks to bring positive results and consistency to the squad.
