Wuhan, 20 May, 2025 – Head coach Lu Dinh Tuan has affirmed that the Ho Chi Minh City Women’s Football Club will give their best effort to achieve the best possible result in the 2024-2025 AFC Women’s Champions League semi-final against the host team Wuhan Jiangda.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference on May 20, 2025, in Wuhan, China, Coach Lu Dinh Tuan stated, “We are very honored to be here for the final stage of the competition. I took over the team after the quarter-finals, as the previous coach had other professional commitments.”
He continued, “I have my own strategy, but the current focus is on improving tactics and strengthening the team’s spirit. I understand that Wuhan Jiangda is a very strong team, having won many regional championships, with national team players and quality foreign recruits. However, we are ready to face this challenge.”
After playing all four of their previous matches at home, this upcoming semi-final will be the first time Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC plays away in this competition, a factor that experienced forward Huynh Nhu is particularly mindful of.
Huynh Nhu shared, “In the group stage and quarter-finals, we had the advantage of playing at home, but entering the final stage, playing away is an entirely different challenge. We know we will be facing thousands of Wuhan fans. The team that takes advantage of their opportunities in tomorrow’s match will come out victorious.”
The second semi-final between Wuhan Jiangda and Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC in the 2024-2025 AFC Women’s Champions League will take place at 15:00 on May 21, 2025, at the Wuhan Sports Center Stadium.
