
Buriram, 20 May, 2025 – Coach Mano Polking and his players are determined to defeat Buriram in the second leg of the AFC Champions League Two final and bring the trophy back to Vietnam.
Tomorrow night (May 21, 2025), the Chang Arena Stadium in Thailand will host the second leg of the Shopee Cup 2024/2025 final between the home team Buriram and Hanoi Police FC . In the first leg at Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi, the two teams played to a 2-2 draw.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, head coach Mano Polking and midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai of Hanoi Police FC expressed confidence ahead of the decisive match. Coach Polking predicted that the second leg would be a fierce contest between two of Southeast Asia’s top teams, stating, “This is a high-level match, and Hanoi Police FC is very proud to be part of this competition. Especially, the support and encouragement from the fans will be a great source of motivation for us.”
He also spoke about the recent presence of Thai football legend Zico Thai during the team’s last training session: “His presence has been very useful. Zico Thai shared his experience on how to adapt quickly to the weather conditions and did not interfere with the tactical side of the game. He mainly helped with logistical support for the team.”
Regarding the team’s condition, Coach Mano Polking confirmed that the squad is fully prepared for tomorrow’s match, with no injuries or suspensions.
When asked about tactics, he frankly stated, “It’s hard to predict anything in a high-stakes match like this. We won’t change much in our approach, but the draw in the first leg puts us at a slight disadvantage. Our goal is to overcome this challenge and secure victory to bring glory to the Vietnamese fans.”
Midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai also shared his thoughts: “We have prepared thoroughly for this important match tomorrow. All members of the team are focused on achieving a positive result, with the goal of bringing the championship trophy back to Vietnam.”
The 1997-born midfielder also expressed his excitement about the atmosphere at Chang Arena, saying, “Personally, I and my teammates always feel excited when playing in stadiums with large crowds. Whether it’s away or home, we always give our best performance.”
“As professional players, we are used to the pressure from full stadiums and consider it a normal part of the game. The fans are always an endless source of inspiration for us to give our all on the pitch. We hope to continue receiving the support of our fans, whether from home or directly in the stands tomorrow.”
The second leg of the Shopee Cup 2024/2025 final between Buriram and Hanoi Police FC will kick off at 19:30 on May 21, 2025.
