Hanoi, 20 June, 2025 – Vietnamese football fans are abuzz with transfer activity on June 20, highlighted by news that Hanoi Police FC is closing in on a deal to sign Brandon Ly, a Vietnamese-Irish midfielder currently playing for Burnley U21 in England.
Born in 2005, Brandon Ly stands 1.75m tall and is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder or right-back. While he has yet to appear professionally, his experience in the English youth system has earned him praise for his solid fundamentals and modern style of play.
Reports suggest that Hanoi Police FC and Brandon Ly have reached a preliminary agreement, with the contract expected to be finalized in early July. Although Ly does not currently hold Vietnamese citizenship, the club is reportedly ready to support his naturalization if he impresses, potentially paving the way for a future call-up to the Vietnam national team.
